Both DOs (Doctors of Osteopathy) and MDs are fully qualified physicians licensed to prescribe medication and perform surgery. However, Osteopathic physicians bring something extra to medicine.

In fact, DOs receive extra training in the musculoskeletal system—the body's interconnected system of nerves, muscles, and bones that make up two-thirds of the body mass.
